The wrong choice. A poor choice. An ill-considered choice. No team can 'carry' a player as captain when his play and form do not even justify inclusion in the side. Not even a century in the last ODI should be allowed to save him. We need a new captain for the World Cup - now just a matter of weeks away. He should 'fall on his sword' - do the honourable thing. England losing matches is one thing, abject capitulations are quite something else.
