Idolatry And Following False Gods Throughout The Old Testament.

Astarte.
After the many things which God had done for the Jewish peoples in the OT, it never ceases to amaze me how often these tribes would stray into idolatry and other such heinous, related practices. He brought them out of Egypt - they spat in His face. Babylon - the same. More kings rebelled against God than served Him.

Little wonder they were so often judged and punished by Him.
Leonard Cohen did not seem entirely certain about his contention for this century but he was definitely right to state that "There's a mighty judgement coming." I have written it periodically on this Blog "God will not be mocked" and in today's world, that is precisely what is happening - even within churches. It is not nuclear wars or collisions with meteors or terrorists that we should be fearing but a God who is as much into RIGHTEOUSNESS as He is into LOVE!
