We need to return to a sustainable system wherein only the truly worthy go to university - and it should be free as it always used to be. This cannot happen if you send everyone and his cat to do a degree course. Degrees are becoming so diluted and devalued in the UK that, in order to progress, the necessary elite - those with university style minds - are now having to do further degrees. Some incredibly basic jobs now demand a degree and the whole employment situation is wildly distorted. Let us return to the meritocracy and return to the non-diluted degrees of yesteryear.
