Jesus The Carpenter?

Pictures abound of the boy Jesus working alongside His stepfather in a woodworking shop.

All very well if carpenter in those times meant a woodworker - but it did not.

Although members of that profession certainly did work in wood - most were more likely to have been builders and general craftsmen.

Not that it really matters - but this fact does help correct a wrongful image.
