Please Help In Stoke.

THIS IS THE FINAL CALL FOR ACTION IN STOKE

Stoke has, sadly, for too long been a victim of Labour's neglect and its policies which, at national and local level, appear to have been hatched in an asylum. But Paul can only win this seat with your help, since Labour is pouring all its resources into this battle. Labour seem to have ceded the other by-election, Copeland, to the Cons, where our excellent candidate Fiona Mills is bravely doing her utmost for UKIP. We all know Stoke's importance extends far beyond its boundaries - a win here will broadcast to all in the Midlands and North that there is hope for change, and that change will only be realised by backing UKIP rather than wasting a protest vote for ConLibGreen.

Please try to come up to Stoke early tomorrow on Wednesday or Thursday. Or on both days - there's inexpensive accommodation available here and here.

Canvassers and leafletters are needed for Wednesday (tomorrow), starting at 8am. On Thursday, starting at 6am, we need volunteers to man the 45 polling stations, visit all the shopping areas, pubs and all areas likely to see high levels of pedestrian traffic and - perhaps most important of all - knock on the doors of all our "pledges"* . This will be the culmination of our Get Out The Vote ("GOTV") strategy of which I've written to you before.

On both days, please turn up at our shop on 1 Piccadilly, Hanley, ST1 1DB (click here for a street map). It's in the pedestrianised centre of Stoke. There are half a dozen cheap car parks on the periphery, most no more than a two-minute walk from the shop. If you are coming by train (for cheap tickets click here, here, here or here), the station to alight at is Stoke-on-Trent, 1.4 miles on foot from the shop. It will be easy to find your way, or share a taxi, from there to the shop, because the People's Army will be out in force on both days.

Once in the shop, Lisa's UKIP team will, taking into account your wishes, give you everything you need to play your vital part in bringing this election home.

* Stoke's electorate numbers 62,000; fewer than half voted at the last general election. By-elections, even key ones, typically attract smaller turnouts still. Media sources predict that it could be decided by little over 20,000 voters. We've extensively worked the entire constituency for five weeks, and while I won't disclose how many pledges (i.e., firm commitments to vote for us) UKIP has got, on Sunday afternoon the running total crossed our target threshold. Now, we need to use this vital information and "GOTV".

It is, however, going to be close. A single vote does make a difference. And you may be the one who influences that vote. You can't do that if you're not there.

London UKIP members (well, any UKIP members - M40 pickups are possible) are offered a fantastic FREE travel deal to/from Stoke, while we still have seats. Act now - the only itinerary still available (all our other transports are full) is:
