Ashes Fiasco: The Negatives and The Positives.

In the early tests, the England attack regularly bowled too short a length - the Aussies didn't!
Our quicks were incredibly slow to adjust.

The Aussie fast bowlers were 5mph faster than our guys.

The batting has been consistently poor throughout - not that batsmen weren't 'getting in' - that was not the problem. Once they were established, countless batsmen threw away their precious wicket. The Aussies did not.

Moe Ali's spin bowling was weighed in the balance and found ineffective!

Vince was getting out consistently waving his bat around, outside off-stump, as if it were a stick of celery at a drunken party.

England proved vulnerable to spinner Lyon as their batting lineup contains too many left handers. The Aussies had a field day - many days.

England were badly missing Ben Stokes.

On the other hand, there are a number of possible problems nearing resolution:

Stoneman is looking that he may develop into a genuine England opener and there was much to praise from Malan in the middle order.

Signs were that Vince possesses great class. If his folly in 'the corridor of uncertainty' can be coached out of him - there is enormous potential.

Furthermore, Crane, Overton and Tom Curran all looked capable of being good bowlers at the international level in the near future.

I hope most Americans had a Godly Thanksgiving.
