Nigel Farage predicted Theresa May’s current proposal for a Brexit deal will make it through the Commons and the UK will leave the bloc on its scheduled date.
The former UKIP leader still made reference, however, to the issue “dominating British politics for at least the next decade.”
Speaking on Sky News, Mr Farage said: “I would’ve thought there’d be quite a lot of Labour MP’s in the Midlands, north south Wales, sitting in seats where there was a big leave majority.
“By voting for May’s deal they can say to their constituents ‘I voted for us to leave the European Union’, even if the detail means we haven’t really.
“So my guess, right at this moment in time, my guess is that the Customs Union style deal that Theresa May is lining up, my guess is she’ll get through Parliament.
“My guess is we’ll leave the treaty at 11pm on March 29, and my guess is that all the issues raised in the referendum will dominate British politics for at least the next decade.”
His comments come after the Prime Minister did a ring round of Cabinet ministers on Sunday to calm fears that she would be racing to end Brexit talks.
