Henrietta.

Happy Christmas and thank you

Every year, I am touched by the generosity and faithful prayers of Open Doors supporters. Throughout 2024, your support and prayers have enabled Open Doors partners in more than 70 countries to sustain, encourage and equip the persecuted church. Whether that's safe houses for North Korean refugees, relief aid to Nigerian displacement camps or a precious Bible to a North African believer, you've been there alongside our persecuted brothers and sisters. Thank you!

Over the Christmas period, we know our global family will join in celebrating the birth of Christ - but we also know that many are particularly vulnerable at this time of year. Please pray for protection and for opportunites to shine the light of Christ. And, of course, keep Syria in your prayers as the situation develops - you can find latest news and prayer updates on our website.

    A carol from Bethlehem

Celina and Khader are young Palestinian Christians who've been attending Bible studies run by Open Doors local partners. You can watch a video of Celina singing 'Aayyad el-leyl' - the Arabic for 'Silent Night' - with Khader accompanying her on guitar. The carol is recorded in a special place: a church in the fields outside Bethlehem, in the area where the shepherds heard the angels declaring the birth of Christ.

As you watch, please pray for all vulnerable young believers to know Jesus's love and nearness when they face opposition and persecution.

I hope you and your loved ones have a blessed Christmas. Thank you again for all your prayers and support throughout 2024,

Henrietta Blyth, CEO, Open Doors UK & Ireland
