If you only read one thing, don’t miss our challenging but moving interview with Ng Shui-Meng (p.8). Her husband (a leading democracy activist in Laos) was disappeared over 12 years ago, and it’s heartbreaking to hear of her loss. Yet she continues to call the world to action: ‘I know I must carry on, and I will have to continue living. And one way to address this is to ensure that how he was disappeared and the circumstances under which he disappeared is made known. […] We hope that the world is listening, and more and more people join forces to counter this heinous crime.’ The magazine is also filled with actions and daily prayer points, reminding us that there is always something we can do in response to the ongoing suffering we read about. We heard beautiful songs on our Free to Believe Stage, while calling the crowd to use their own voice for freedom. And the response is something to celebrate: Over 200 people took action for Carmen and Lesbia, asking the UK Foreign Secretary to raise their case with the Nicaraguan embassy in London. Please pray that this will have a great impact, as we continue to cry out: Where are they?
