No comment but every picture tells a story, don't it?

'The well-known symbol of the Red Cross is an insulting reminder of the Crusades and should be replaced with a crystal, claims a Foreign Office minister.
Chris Bryant MP argued that the religious connotations of the symbol could undermine the work of the Red Cross.'

Back to prayer.

Further to what I wrote on the last posting on prayer, I recently did an RS lesson with a fairly bright bunch of 14 year olds.
Between us all, we found FIFTEEN reasons why people pray.

Just as a matter of interest dear Christian readers - how many reasons could you come up with?

Irony, surely?

Gordon Brown is advising Iran to listen to 'the grievances of its people'.

Good call, your honour.

Daily Mail.

More BNP votes earned?

'Local residents might argue that the existence of a hastily-built travellers' camp is painfully obvious.
But that has not stopped a council diversity panel from proposing a taxpayer-funded scheme to make people more aware of gipsies...
Officials want schools to hold 'gipsy and traveller history months' every academic year, and plan to publish thousands of leaflets explaining why nomadic people are misunderstood....
The £65,000 project would also involve funding a 'gipsy and traveller liaison officer' to aid communication between communities....
A report by the Equality and Diversity Panel for Sandwell Borough Council, near Birmingham, said: 'Such celebrations can help "myth bust", make individual communities feel part of the wider community and overall have a very real impact on community cohesion.'
But Fiona McEvoy, from the Taxpayers' Alliance, said: 'It's not for local councils to manipulate the school curriculum based on their latest politically correct whims, especially when educational standards are flagging.'

NO COMMENTS. NO SURPRISES - JUST AN AWARD TO SANDWELL COUNCIL - EYES RIGHT!

Unusual BNP recruitment agencies.

Here we go again! Police persecution of a man because he may be a BNP member. [ HE ISN'T. He is in the House of God to pray!] Thrown out of Blackburn Cathedral by the same numbskull reasoning!

Two institutions, Church and Police, conspiring together to get more BNP votes in the next election?

OF ADDED INTEREST. My posting on the 2nd April 2007 contained this: "Anjum Anwar’s appointment as Dialogue Development Officer at Blackburn Cathedral has been welcomed by Muslims and described as “imaginative” by the publicly funded government agency sponsoring the post. Her post will be funded by the North West Development Agency (NWDA) for an initial two years."I DESPAIR."

Hmmm! I wonder if her appointment was extended beyond April 2009? Any links to the above, I wonder?

It bears repetition.

[First posted February 2008 - we need to be reminded why the BNP are beginning to gain a foothold!]

Apart from out and out criminals, the only people I have utterly despised in my lifetime have been politicians - in particular, those whose liberal idealism has caused inestimable damage to the world in which we live. As high as any on my 'list of scorn' has been that egregious, oily, champagne-socialist, Roy Jenkins. Until the present batch of incompetents at least, he was the worst Home Secretary ever. This was also a man more than willing to sell out this nation to Brussels and who gained his venal reward by becoming President of The European Commission. This was that wretched man who said "If anybody does not want to work in a modern society - they shouldn't have to." This is the man who said "The permissive society is the civilised society. 'Woy' was an unctuous and brilliant intellectual but with no sense of 'real people' and their hopes and aspirations. He was a co-founder of the SDP, a party which evolved into the Lib Dems of today - a group which is far and away the worst of today's three major parties.The damage he left in his smug, self-satisfied wake may never be calculated.

Prayer.

In conversation the other day, it struck me that where answered prayer is concerned, I very rarely seem to get a response when it is about me - however valid that request may have been whereas my 'success rate' is considerably greater when praying for others.
Somehow, this does not surprise me overmuch.

Are we surprised?

The EU does not listen to what the general public wants, according to members of its own parliament!
The shocking finding comes in a report published today by the TaxPayers' Alliance and ComRes, which surveyed MEPs and the British public on a range of EU issues, and then compared the results.
Asked if the EU listened to the general public, only 41 per cent of MEPs could bring themselves to answer yes.

HARDLY NEWS BUT ASTONISHING THAT SO MANY OF THE GRAVY TRAIN MOB ADMIT IT !

I do not like TV bullies.

I do not like bullies therefore I do not watch the odious Simon Cowell taking himself rather too seriously on TV.

At last - some good news.

Thirty years ago it was officially declared extinct in Britain.
But the beautiful large blue butterfly has made an astonishing return.
Around 20,000 will be flitting through the countryside this summer as a result of reintroduction efforts, scientists say.
It is one of the world’s most threatened species – and one of the most choosy.

WELCOME BACK!

Another TV bully.

I do not like bullies therefore I do not watch the odious Gordon Ramsay taking himself rather too seriously on TV.

Wake up!

Recently, I was listening to some religious type on the steam radio who was commenting on the recent BNP successes.
Put simply, there was no trap that this rather silly individual did not fall into.
He resented the democratic process; thought that it was a question of 'education'; rejected the genuine cares and concerns of the electorate; propagated a liberal left world view as if there was no other and was totally arrogant - in the very nicest of ways - of course!
Yet he was even lacklustre in his condemnation of the 'egging' of Nick Griffin - too dim to recognise that people are more scared of the people throwing the eggs than they are of the recipient.
Wake up!

Odd man out.

Who is the odd man out in this list - and more importantly, why ?

Lord Stevenson: Former chairman, HBOS.

Andy Hornby: Former chief executive, HBOS.

Sir Fred Goodwin: Former chief executive, RBS.

Sir Tom McKillop: Former chairman, RBS.

John McFall MP: Chairman of Treasury select committee.

Alistair Darling: Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Gordon Brown: Prime Minister and former Chancellor.

Sir Terry Wogan: Presenter of Radio 2's 'Breakfast Show'.

You're probably thinking .. "Terry Wogan"

You're right. However, the actual reason might surprise you ...................

Terry Wogan is the only one out of this motley crew who actually holds
any formal banking qualification !!

Another bully to ignore.

I do not like bullies, therefore I do not watch the odious Anne Robinson taking herself rather too seriously on TV.

The elephant in the darwinian room.

'Did Charles Darwin get it right or wrong. Would he have written the Origin of Species had he know about Genes.If there is a design then there is a designer - now here is an opportunity not only to listen a engaging speaker but ask questions and get real answers.Dr Mark Harwood has over 30 years of experience in satellite communications and has designed high power broadcast satellites, for television services direct to homes, and satellites for commercial and military communications services. He has studied the issues surrounding science and the Bible for many years and is convinced of the accuracy of the historical record of the Bible. The evidence in the world around us overwhelmingly supports the biblical timeline of history and shows the hallmark of brilliant and intricate design. If life is the result of a Creator then there are implications for every single human being.
Dr Harwood is an engaging speaker who readily communicates these concepts in a fashion that people of all ages can understand.'

ON TOUR OF THE UK - NOW!

Terry Sanderson.

Terry Sanderson, president of The Secular Society, appeared on the 'religious programme' on Radio Humberside this morning.
Odd.
How very like asking for the meat option in a vegetarian restaurant.

Hell.

[Note the arrow points leftwards.]
Does The Bible teach that there is a hell? - Indubitably, although the nature of the place is not fully revealed.
Over the years, far better theologians than me have concluded that the worst feature of this is 'being separated from God and recognising the awfulness of that situation'.
Too many liberal Christians have decided to 'abolish hell'.

"God would never condemn somebody - He is much too nice."

Hmm. Where in the Bible does it state that God is prepared to condone sin, evil and unrighteousness?
Jesus was sent to save sinners who have repented according to my understanding. So, what did He come to save them from?
Why has the Bible deceived us on this point, I wonder?

It is a good tactic to pretend that there is no hell as unbelieving and lethargic and fearful Christians then have a ready-made excuse for not passing on the Gospel message. It makes life a great deal easier all round, doesn't it?

The 'near' Christians are happy to engage with the 2nd of the two great commandments, to love their neighbour. Or are they doing? If you really love somebody, you should tell them about hell and how to avoid it.
This does not have to be achieved with the flashing eyes and waving arms of the 'wild-eyed loony' - but it still needs to be done!

The Prayer of St Francis.

How to live a life:

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

Just one question.

Just one question for Dave Cameron: How many of the nonsensical pieces of politically correct trash introduced by Harperson will he be dismantling and expunging from the statute books?

Ah. I see. NONE!

Trooping The Colour.

Phew. If there is one thing us Brits do well it is pageantry!

Do they ever learn?

???????? We have around 62 million people in the UK. England has the densest population of any country in Europe.
In the last few years, the EU/Labour decision to open the doors to all EU migrants has not resulted in the estimated 13,000 arrivals but rather 1.8 million which represents an addition to these overcrowded islands of about 3% - and these are of course, just the ones we know about.
So we can add an indeterminate number of illegals to this.
In addition, we have non stop streams of asylum seekers of whom David Blunkett when Home Secretary said that some 90% were bogus. What is that percentage today, I wonder?
In one sense, ALL asylum seekers are bogus as UN rules state that would-be refugees must seek asylum in the nearest safe country.
So why I have just been listening to an asylum seeker freshly arrived from Eritrea on Radio Humberside this morning. For how just long has Eritrea bordered the UK, I wonder? How many millions does he represent?
On the same programme we were told how the City of Kingston upon Hull must have more 'diversity and be even more multicultural' by members of a group promoting the 'rights' of such immigrants.

Just three questions:

1] When do these people regard this overcrowded nation as being full? Is it 2 million more, 20 million more or perhaps 100 million? - We should be told!

2] What gives them the right to alter the base of our nation without permission?

3] Have they learned NOTHING from BNP successes last Sunday?

SO One-Sided!
