It's only taxpayers' money.

'A disastrous series of failed climate change publicity stunts cost taxpayers £9 million, it emerged yesterday.
The projects paid for by the Government’s Climate Challenge Fund did next to nothing to change public opinion, a Whitehall report found.'

Honesty at last?

'Gaffe-prone Harriet Harman faces an investigation for admitting taxpayers paid for ministers to drum up votes on Cabinet awaydays.
Taxpayers have spent nearly £650,000 so far on such Cabinet meetings around the country.
The main trips outside London have taken place in seats that Labour is under threat of losing at the General Election.'

Not only part of a rotten, venal system - but stupid enough not to keep quiet about it!

Scapegoats.

I go regularly onto a website dedicated to Scunthorpe United - otherwise known correctly as The Mighty Iron.
It is quite an eye-opener to human nature.
Many of the posters express heartfelt views and more than a few speak fairly and honestly, of course.
But to be honest, as an insight into the human psyche, it is second to none. It is astonishing how so many people - all of whom support the team which is objectively the most successful in the country at the moment (Think about it!) - are at each others throats.
It seems that the relative anonymity of a website unleashes torrents of nastiness and I do not just refer to banter. It is quite disturbing in many ways.
Secondly, 'the scapegoat factor' is a significant part of this unpleasantness. Amongst the players, there always has to be scapegoats. Even a five star performance from a disliked player will elicit abuse. Allowances are never made, the manager 'never knows what he is doing'; the Chairman is 'tight'; 'the club lacks ambition' blah, blah.
I just wonder how many of the writers would like to be pilloried in their workplace in like manner?
Jesus was right. Let's hear a round of applause for THE GOLDEN RULE!

Brit Awards.

After seeing the results - how can this award possibly be taken seriously?

Spitting in the face of the public.

Although polls where people make their own decisions whether or not to participate are amongst the least accurate of all, and especially so within newspapers of a specific political hue, they do have a value if posed by a neutral body and are not obviously open to manipulation.
In this case, it is AOL who have had a self-selecting poll on whether the UK should join the euro.
As it stands, with more than 11,000 votes in - the answer is a resounding 89% against.
In the meantime, our europhile politicians go marching blithely onwards as if voters do not matter at all.
They are quite right. We ALLOW our politicians to do this to us. We should refuse to vote for any party which spits in the face of public opinion! When we continue to do so - we are simply consolidating the non-democratic system we have earned for ourselves.

Pig lungs.

A friend has pointed out an interesting, and I would have thought - serious flaw in evolutionist thinking.
According to the (macro) evolutionists, we humans descended from chimps/monkeys/apes/bonobos – n'est-ce pas?
So how come all the scientific advances in transplants seem to use pig organs?? -
Er .... yeah!

Nice one Dave!

More 'errors' in 'climate change data'!

Please tell me if .....

...... you ever have information in any workplace today that you have encountered, that there is any woman doing precisely the same job as a man and yet is being paid some 15% less. I have asked this question many times and have never received a reply!

Once again, in the last few days we are being assailed with wild feminist claims that women earn less than men.
Have they brokered in 'the interrupted career patterns' to which I have occasionally referred?

As a side issue, I wonder if they have considered the 'cherrypicking' of jobs done by women.
Looking outside my window as our bins are emptied this morning, I am reminded that it is a long time since I last saw a woman 'working the bins'.

Me? I believe in equality - you can stuff your special pleading!

Even Robert Peel wasn't always right ...

..... or maybe things have changed in a couple of centuries, Bobby!

"No minister ever stood, or could stand, against public opinion."

Fatal Flaw.

There are just three fundamental flaws in the logic on display here in this popular atheist slogan.

The word 'probably' means that they have stated that the existence of God is unlikely - but nonetheless possible! Doesn't that resonate better with agnostics?)

Secondly, if as implied, Christians aren't enjoying life - then surely they are doing something wrong!

Thirdly, I suspect that they are equating 'sin' with 'enjoyment'. As the atheist has no concept of 'personal sin' and consequences - perhaps they may be forgiven for what is their simple ignorance.

Even so. Three blunders in eleven words is not particularly good going - is it?

Yet more 'warmist' evidence is faked!

'The United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change faces a fresh challenge with scientists casting doubt on its claim that the evidence for global warming is 'unequivocal'.
In its most recent report, the panel said there was no doubt that temperatures are rising and that man is largely to blame.
But some researchers, including a former IPCC report author, say that widespread and systematic tampering of the data mean the case for global warming has been grossly overstated.

Hot debate: ice caps such as this one in Greenland are melting at an alarming rate but the evidence that the world is warming continues to attract doubt
The claim will further erode trust in the panel, which has been caught making unfounded claims several times in recent weeks.
These include using a student's essay and an article from a climbing magazine to make claims about reductions in ice on mountains around the world in a report used by governments around the world to set environmental policy.'

QUESTION: If the evidence for man-made global warming is so conclusive - why is there so much fabricated evidence out there?

Was it all a taxation scam from the start?

'Labour has spent almost £7million on television adverts warning about the dangers of drinking in pubs – just four years after giving the go-ahead to 24-hour opening.'

Are you a 'warmist'? - Read it and weep!

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information .... he may have actually lost the relevant papers.....
The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.
And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.
The admissions will be seized on by sceptics as fresh evidence that there are serious flaws at the heart of the science of climate change and the orthodoxy that recent rises in temperature are largely man-made.
Professor Jones has been in the spotlight since he stepped down as director of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit after the leaking of emails that sceptics claim show scientists were manipulating data.
The raw data, collected from hundreds of weather stations around the world and analysed by his unit, has been used for years to bolster efforts by the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to press governments to cut carbon dioxide emissions.

Death.

In a week in which three people I know have died I never cease to be amazed at so many people's casual attitude to death - their own!
Now the atheist is taking a massive risk on his/her unproved assumption (better called a guess, I suppose) that there is no God.
By and large, the word 'agnostic' denotes somebody who has gone through life not having bothered to research the truth. Again - what a mighty risk!
Then we have the real fools - those who claim to believe in God but simply ignore His instructions; ignore the Scriptures; ignore the warnings; ignore the freely offered salvation of God the Son.

Surely, everybody owes it to themselves to research very seriously what this is all about. What if people like me are right? What if my claims to know Jesus are not spurious? What if you are facing the prospect of hell?

Some will say "But I am sure that a ' good God' would never condemn anybody to hell." They are right. Those who ignore the Cross condemn themselves. "God is not willing that any should perish." II Peter 3:9.

So back to the main point - surely the ageing process on its own should be enough to prompt people to seek the Truth. Clearly, it isn't! Odd when the only certainty of life beyond the fact of taxation is that our lives are going to end.
So, then what?

Matthew 7:7. "Seek and you will find."

Civil Service cuts.

There are apparently huge cuts in the offing throughout the Civil Service.
Well, my 'mole in-the-know' has revealed to me that the hardest hit will be: the useful jobs; those helping the public; the ones at the sharp end.

My readers will undoubtedly be thrilled to learn that bureaucrats will be largely unaffected.

Labour cares - but not much!

'The housing minister came under fire yesterday for describing repossession as 'the best option' for struggling homeowners.
John Healey's remarks were slammed as 'grossly insensitive' as figures revealed that the number of evictions is at its highest level for 14 years.'

SICK!

Salvation. The story of a second miracle.

I had Scripture at junior school; Scripture at one grammar school; Divinity in a second grammar school and finally RK in my last grammar. I attended a Methodist Sunday School for six years and attended countless school assemblies and church services over years and after all of that I had precious little clue what the Gospel was actually about.

One very sunny Madrid day at Easter 1973, I read Romans 2:14 in my year-long quest to prove that: A] I had no need of Christianity and B] It was bogus in any case.

Within a matter of seconds after reading the above text all my arguments collapsed - I shan't explain the wherefores at this point - and I yielded to God and knew instantly and for all time that I had hit TRUTH. This 'saving faith' was the first miracle. It was real and immediate and so I am utterly unable to grasp how anybody can possibly 'go from belief to disbelief'. I have to assume that there was nothing substantial there from the start. God is not an opinion!
The second miracle in that same moment was that all the Scriptures of all the years gone by suddenly slotted instantly into place and made complete sense. A mishmash of bits and pieces became a cohesive whole in an instant.

And they call it a JUSTICE system?

'A father who defended his family from drug-crazed thugs by wounding one with a Samurai sword has been cleared by a jury.
David Fullard, 47, was prosecuted for attacking the two strangers who forced their way into his home and threatened to rape his partner and kill his two teenage children.
He insisted he was a desperate man acting legally in self-defence and struck out once with the ornamental sword, because it was the only weapon to hand.
'

So WHY was this man prosecuted - sorry, I meant persecuted?

Why are these two thugs (pictured) not even imprisoned?

Just because it's on paper don't make it so!

For over 20 years there has been a naive belief that if an employee makes a written record of something - then it is automatically true.
I found this out to my cost this last week when I discovered that CitiBank employees had falsified written accounts of telephone conversations dealing with a complaint that I have made.
I am now at a grave disadvantage in that complaint because of this very silly logic.
Certainly, in the Police, the NHS and Education, similar thinking applies - the logic is not merely flawed but patently absurd!
Employees write down what they claim that they have said and done. Well, they will aways record in a manner which suits their own purpose. Well, won't they?

How old are you?

If you were born after 1957, you will have had no say whatsoever on this country's membership of the EU.
It strikes me that it is about time that you had a say, and that the people who made the mistake of voting to stay in what was then the Common Market due to the barefaced lies of Traitor Heath et al, should be given a second chance!

To God Be The Glory.

FOR HIM.

The Lord has a place that I'm still trying to acquire.

Just that much more to take me a bit higher.

I'm not asking for wealth or for any fame...

I'm simply asking for the strength to call on His name.

I'm not good at many things but I know this much is true...

No matter what I'm not good at, all I need to be good at is You.

To keep up that race that I know I will win...

To strive for perfection only You carry within.

I may not be the wisest or the most beautifully displayed...

But my Lord still loves me and for His glory I was made!

"I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving" Psalm 69:30
