Desiderata - I've Always Liked This Piece In Spite Of ...

Go placidly amidst the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be (THAT's THE ANNOYING BIT!) and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Eurozone Disaster For All?

'The ‘virulent’ European crisis could infect the UK and the global economy unless governments take urgent action to tackle their problems, one of the world’s leading financial watchdogs has warned.
In its grim diagnosis the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) said the chaos spreading across the single currency block could be a ‘harbinger’ of a global meltdown.'  (Mail)

Juvenile Delinquency - A Moral Issue!

A tiny band of delinquents who commit around 86 crimes by the age of 16 are responsible for the majority of youth offending, according to a study.
It also found that nearly half of juvenile offences can be traced back to a small number of thugs who make up less than 4 per cent of the teenage population.
The research by Cambridge University has been hailed as a ground-breaking study into Britain’s feral youth as it suggests for the first time that it is not opportunity which makes the thief, it is morality.
A Moral Issue? Well that is certainly the starting point! Excise the Christian Faith from your society and there are many prices to pay!

Is India missing a monsoon?

Asia Bibi Still Needs Your Prayer.

Don't Forget Asia Bibi!

Asia BibiAsia Bibi, the Christian woman on death row for blasphemy in Pakistan, is in good health but is missing her children, her husband, Ashiq, told Release in a telephone interview.
The illiterate farm labourer from Punjab, who has been in prison for a year and a half, sees her family just twice a month for three to four hours at a time.
'Like all the prisoners, she is in a small cell,' Ashiq told us. 'She is missing her children but she is physically well and her faith is strong, Please keep praying for Asia's release and for our children. They miss their mum a lot.'
Ashiq and their children, who have received support from a Release partner, have been forced to move home on several occasions because of threats to their safety and are in hiding again. (Release Int.)

Great Advice But I Foresee A Problem ...

Who Should Christians Vote for? Look to Biblical Teachings, Pastor Urges.

By Stoyan Zaimov.

Dr. Ken Hutcherson, the pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Redmond, Wash., has told Christians in America to look to the word of God before they consider presidential candidates this coming election year, and has set a clear message – Christians should not support those who go against Biblical teachings.

UKIP Heading For Euro-Glory?

By James Macintyre. Prospect Magazine.
UKIP came fourth in 1999, third in 2004, and second in 2009. Is it possible that in the next elections to the European parliament in 2014, UKIP could come top?
The short answer is yes. Unless there is a big change in fortunes of the main political parties, I expect a close fight between UKIP and Labour for first place, both winning around 25 per cent, with the Conservatives trailing third on around 20 per cent. (The Lib Dems could find themselves struggling to avoid fifth place, behind the Greens; but that’s another story.)
This year’s local elections confirm the findings of YouGov’s voting intention surveys: UKIP is currently more popular than at any time in its history, outside the special circumstances of European election campaigns.
