Iran Reverts To Type.

Five Christians from a Muslim background who have been imprisoned in Shiraz, southwest Iran, since February were due to appear in court recently. The charges against them relate to their participation in Christian activities as well as alleged anti-state activity.

The five are a couple, Homayoun and Fariba, and three men, Mojtaba, Mohammad-Reza and Vahid. They were arrested on February 8 in simultaneous raids on two homes. Three others who were arrested with them, including Homayoun and Fariba’s 17-year-old son, were released in March on bail payments of $100,000 each.
