Alastair Cook - Should He Quit The England Captaincy?

Alastair Cook's captaincy in recent weeks has been tedious, ineffective and lacking in any inspiration whatsoever.
He was thoroughly out-captained by New Zealand's Brendon McCullum and there are already signs that he will be doing no better against Australia. We seemed to win yesterday in spite of his efforts.
(My apologies to the England Captain if the tactics have all been pre-decided by the coach, Ashley Giles.)
I saw excellent leadership from both skippers in the game between W. Indies and Pakistan on Friday.
He has been doing the job for long enough now  - and it seriously worries me when I feel that my tactical awareness is better than his. I cannot recall such a situation - ever!
