I cannot overstate how much I detest The Premier
League. I shall never pay the exorbitant prices charged to watch a match in that
division.
The almost complete absence of British players in many of the bigger clubs is utterly
absurd.
It is not that I do not enjoy seeing the silky skills of some
truly great foreign players - because I do! It is the preponderance of the merely
good foreign players who prevent the development of fringe English
players.
It is an abomination, compounded by: astronomical wages, the
influence of Sky TV, the general belief amongst youngsters that this situation
is normal and of course, the dead hand of European Courts sticking their
unwanted noses into our business!
