Bolivian court upholds legislation criminalising abortion
Bolivia's highest court has upheld laws
defining abortion as a criminal offence, recognising explicitly the "right of
life from the moment of conception". However, it removed the legal requirement for women to obtain judicial authorisation before having an abortion in the case of rape, making it easier for women to accesss the procedure in these circumstances. Christian Concern.
