Louise Allain, a single mother-of-two worked 9.30am to 3pm, three days a week until she was made redundant in February. The 40-year-old said she was offered a job by Mrs Blair after the former Prime Minister's wife discovered she was looking for a part-time job to fit around her children. But in February, after a year of working in Mrs Blair's personal office, Miss Allain was summoned to Cherie's Connaught Square home to answer questions as to why she hadn't accepted the offer of a £27,000 a year full-time role. Miss Allain turned down the role in the interests of her two children. But days later she was made redundant, receiving an email to say there were no longer any part-time jobs available. Miss Allain said: '‘By giving me a job which allowed me to be a mother too, Cherie gave me confidence and hope. Now I just feel washed up, kicked and back to square one.’ Mail.
