Assisted Dying.

CareyCarey: I've changed my mind on right to die: On eve of controversial Lords debate, former Archbishop dramatically backs assisted death law.                                        The ex-head of the Church of England, George Carey, has revealed he has dropped his long-standing opposition to legalising assisted dying. He declared it would not be 'anti-Christian' to change the law and warned that by opposing reform, the Church risks promoting 'anguish and pain'. Mail.                                                           My problem on  this matter is that Scriptural guidance is far from clear - yet huge numbers of Church leaders make assumptions which are difficult to validate. I often discuss this issue and well-informed, rank-and-file Christians seem pretty evenly split. Personally. I would want a great deal of spiritual input for those considering this route. You can't see a government going for that though, can you? More likely they would forget that we are supposed to be a Christian nation and would throw the reins of guidance to all and sundry - probably including Klingon 'ministers'.
