The God of The Old Testament And The God of The New.

As theology, it may be a tad simplistic, but those who cannot grasp why God is tough in the Old Testament yet inviting in the New, the answer is at least partly explained by the fact that He is a God of Righteousness AND a God of Love. The two things are not mutually exclusive. Moreover, you do see evidence of His love in the OT and evidence of the dire warnings given by Jesus in the NT.
