George Ellison.

St. Symphorien cemetery in Belgium:
Just a few metres from George Ellison's grave is that of Private John Parr, the first British soldier to die in the First World War. George died 90 minutes before the armistice - shot by a sniper. More than 800 British and Commonwealth soldiers died that morning.
