Accusations of 'being far-right' issue
forth constantly from the mouths of leftists against anybody one degree further
right than themselves. UKIP has suffered from this absurd nonsense
times-a-many.
With Le Front National - it certainly
was true in the past with anti-semitism almost as bad as that found in
our own liberal left circles today. BUT, that party has changed considerably and
is trying to become centre right. It has one serious problem in that attempt,
however - Marine Le Pen's father, the egregious Jean-Marie Le Pen, is undeniably
very nasty hard right And until he goes, the party will remain irredeemably
tainted. As an MEP - he has another four and a half years left to serve and will
inevitably remain a brooding, malevolent influence on that party's attempts to
re-brand itself.
