Wholly Inadequate Sentencing.

Three boy racers jailed today were part of a gang that was seen racing around roundabouts before speeding into oncoming traffic on a busy stretch of the A40 in Pembrokeshire. Their 'lunatic' driving was slammed by a judge, who said that their actions put a 'large number' of road users, including children, in danger. Scott Beavis (top right) was jailed for six months for dangerous driving after he lost control of his car and drove head-on into another vehicle. Ian Lloyd (bottom right) was also jailed for six months and Jack Murdoch (top left) was handed a 16-week sentence. Left: Beavis' car after the crash, which landed the other driver in hospital. This utter contempt for the safety of ordinary members of the public is a disgrace and I am not referring to these young sickos. I am referring to a judge who has not used the maximum available powers in a situation where nothing less would do. Whatever happened to deterrence?
