The Go-Between.

I watched The Go-Between last weekend on the Beeb and, although it was well done, it was not a patch on the 1971 version with Alan Bates and Julie Christie - so what was the point?
This week the Beeb will attempt to better the 1999 version of Laurie Lee's awesome Cider With Rosie narrated by the author himself. Why?
