BREXIT BOOM: UK business deals up by 800 PER CENT in month following EU Referendum.
BRITISH companies have raked in tens of billions in new deals, with an eight-fold increase in the space of one month, in a business bonanza since the UK voted to leave the European Union. Some 60 deals have been done in the month since Brexit, worth £26.3billion.
This is in contrast to deals done in the month before the EU referendum which were worth just £3.2bn in total.
One of the biggest deals has been the acquisition of chip designer ARM Holdings by Japan’s SoftBank for £24.4bn – in a clear signal that major countries remain committed to doing business with Britain.
The news has been welcomed by the government, with Prime Minister Theresa May declaring Britain “open for business.”
