Speaking on talkRADIO, Mr Redwood said the
bloc was “wrong on all counts” and there was “no requirement” for the UK to pay
a divorce fee.
The former Welsh Secretary said: “There’s clearly been some briefing
hasn’t there from the European Union side claiming that the Government doesn’t
understand how the EU thinks about all these things and all those silly
headlines about how the Government really isn’t in touch with the
EU.
“I can assure you that the Government knows exactly what the European
Union’s position is.
I certainly hope that this is the case!
