Cataluña. (Let's Spell It Correctly Just This Once, Eh?)

  1. Rajoy speaks of the rule of law over Cataluña, but that principle cannot trump the right to self-determination, a right embedded in the UN Charter. Puigdemont should publicly ask Rajoy how - respecting Spanish law - he proposes that right might be exercised and the issue decided.
  2. Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy came across today as inflexible, arrogant, and petulant over the results. Rajoy's party - under proportional representation - took just 3 seats out of 135. His attitude risks pushing the Catalan people even further away.
