The EU nationals earning THREE TIMES as much on UK benefits as working at home.
EXCLUSIVE - EU nationals from Eastern Europe living in the UK are being paid up to THREE TIMES more in benefits than they get for working full-time in their native countries. The shock figures give a clear indication as to why people from countries including Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria so are keen to move to this country rather than face a life of toil for a fraction of the money they can expect to receive should they move over here.
Using the turn2us benefits calculator recommended by the Government’s own gov.uk website, Express.co.uk calculated that an average family of four living in London could expect to receive benefits totalling £1,842.45 a month.
According to tradingeconomics.com, this is significantly higher than the average monthly manufacturing wage for Lithuania (£768), Poland (£936), Latvia (£642), Slovakia (£906), Romania (£773) and Bulgaria (£500).
Statistics published on tradingeconomics.com also reveal that the national minimum monthly wage in Lithuania is just £458 – barely a quarter of what they could expect to receive in benefits in the UK.
