D-Day + 75 Years.

75 years on, band of brothers return to the D-Day beaches to honour fallen.

A THINNING band of veterans yesterday defied the advancing years to return to the scene of their finest and most terrifying hour – the beaches of Normandy.

Blogger: My father was in the first wave of relief troops. He arrived on the 25th and fought virtually non-stop through Normandy, Belgium, Holland,The Ardennes and across the Rhine.

Although there was not a scratch on him (one of only three in his battalion) the war left him with deep, emotional scars.
