This final act of forgiveness demonstrated by Zofija Kaczan was, say friends and the priest who prayed with her at Royal Derby Hospital, a typical act of kindness from a woman who endured so much suffering in her own life – from seeing her family torn apart during the Nazi occupation of Poland to losing her beloved husband a decade ago - and yet held on to her faith until the very end.
