I have read the whole New Testament some thirty times and I think I understand this rather better than a man who erroneously believes that he is able to create saints - whether dead or alive!

Just the fact that Cardinal Newman has been dead for so long should be a clue. 'Our' pope is acting retrospectively. Just how would that work?
