Plastic bag use HALVES in just one year in boost for war on pollution, and supermarkets record a massive drop of 93 per cent after bringing in 5p charge 

Carrier bag sales in supermarkets across the UK have dropped have plunged 93 per cent thanks to the 5p levy. In five years plastic bag use has gone from 7.6billion bags down to 549million. Mail.
