Royalty.

I have always just about accepted the need for a Royal Family - at its most basic: the tourism benefits are significant; the historical benefits are incalculable; it is good - and actually cheaper - to have a neutral Head of State; our Queen has been excellent in her role.
It is Meghan Markle who is making me question these ideas. From eccentric Charles with his 'Protector of faith' rubbish to the posh left liberalism which seems to have hit the princes - instead of continuing to be a lukewarm royalist, I am feeling that kind of heavy enthusiasm starting to evaporate.
