Don't you just wish that leftists would be honest and make a distinction between migrants and refugees.
Let me explain:
Anyone trying to enter our nation illegitimately in order to live here is an illegal immigrant or has made themselves into such. How tough is that to grasp?
Such people must always be deported to country of origin - or any other which will accept them.
Those who 'lose' ID papers must be blood tested and deported to the most likely point of origin. Publish this abroad and stop us being such an attractive prospect as a destination.
Anyone fleeing persecution who has been invited to this nation is an actual refugee.
Anyone claiming to be a refugee who is either bogus or someone who has, in contradiction of UN rulings, moved voluntarily from the 'first nation of safety' they encountered, has effectively changed status to that of economic migrant. As a refugee, you must pick safety - not where you can get the best deal!
We are a grossly overcrowded nation now with ultra high unemployment. Why should we be accepting any economic migrants?
It always sticks in my craw that 85%+ of so-called refugees are male and aged between 16 and 32. If these are truly refugees - they have left their vulnerable relatives back in the danger zone.
Just the sort of selfish people we want popping across the Channel on a lilo to become our neighbours?
We want refugees? - Great! Fine. Laudable. How's about offering visas in real refugee camps to Christians escaping persecution as our first and final port of call? That alone would ensure that we are taking well above our fair share.
