An evening with CSW… |
Our supporters have responded in the most amazing way in 2020, giving to religious communities made more vulnerable due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hear how your gifts, prayers and campaigning are making a difference to many around the world suffering for their faith. |
‘Sorry, China, I’m not buying it’ |
What’s the link between how we spend our money and how religious minorities in China are treated? From ‘re-education camp’ to slavery Since 2017, between one and three million Uyghurs and other predominantly Muslim ethnic groups have been placed in ‘re-education camps’. They are incarcerated for ‘crimes’ such as ‘unusual beards’, possessing a religious book, or meeting with others to pray. Many of those released from the camps are sent to factories which supply well known Western clothing brands. Money talks. It can also call for justice. |
Join us for IDOP this November: The Real Lockdown |
Each year thousands of you pray with your churches, to mark the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP). It’s a fantastic opportunity to build awareness of Christian persecution around the world. IDOP 2020 will be celebrated on Sunday 15 November in the UK, and 1 November in other parts of the world. Our theme this year is The Real Lockdown. In India, many can’t gather to pray in their homes, for fear of attack. In China, even Christians who join online services risk arrest. This is the Real Lockdown - and it’s not a temporary one. We’ve put together a host of excellent resources to help you and your church pray for persecuted Christians on whatever date you’re able to mark IDOP. |
Leave a legacy of justice and freedom |
‘As a young activist in a country emerging from half a century of brutal military rule, I learned so much from CSW’s trainings.’ – Khin Moht Moht Aung, Burma CSW first met Khin Moht Moht Aung when we ran a training session for 20 human rights defenders from across Burma. Over the course of three days, CSW experts taught Khin Moht Moht Aung and her colleagues the skills they would need to champion religious freedom in a country in transition. Today, Khin Moht Moht Aung serves her country as one of its first MPs – using what she learned at CSW’s training to create lasting change for her country. Leave a gift in your will to CSW, and you’ll be part of creating a freer, fairer world for generations to come. ‘CSW is the only Christian organisation that’s working with national governments and the UN to create a freer, fairer world, not just for Christians but for people of all different faiths and none. ‘That kind of world is the best legacy I can imagine, and that’s why I have left a gift in my will to CSW.’ – Simon George, legacy supporter |
