Missing.

Hi all,  In August it will be four years since Chinese Christian human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng went missing.  Could you spare £21 today to stand with Gao’s wife Geng He?  Gao had been under house arrest for years due to his human rights work, before disappearing completely in August 2017. He’s believed to be in some form of detention, but no one has been able to see him since.  To this day Geng He continues to campaign for her husband’s freedom. She’s not giving up, and neither will we. Giving £21 will enable us to keep raising his case – and those of others facing injustice for their beliefs – with people in power. In Mexico, Pastor Aarón Méndez Ruiz and Alfredo Castillo de Luna were abducted in 2019 from the migrant shelter they ran on the US-Mexico border, after the pastor prevented an organised criminal group’s attempt to kidnap Cuban asylum seekers from the shelter. The two men have not been seen or heard from since. I could tell you stories like this from almost every country CSW works on. At any one time there may be thousands of people worldwide who have been ‘disappeared’ in connection with their faith. But there is hope. Maira Shahbaz is a 15-year-old Christian girl from Faisalabad, Pakistan who was abducted in April 2020 and forcibly married. But a few months later she managed to escape her kidnapper and was reunited with her family. This is an amazing testimony to the power of prayer!
