Changing Standards or Just Double Standards?

I know a church which, some years ago, refused to allow a former minister from a different church to worship with them. Extreme? - No. But wholly Scriptural. The man was living in an adulterous relationship and thought he could have his cake and eat it.

With even the slightest attempt at repentance, he would surely have been allowed to stay but he defended this relationship.

In Christianity, God makes the rules and we follow them.
A short affair - genuinely repented and forgiveness from Jesus immediately beckons.
Well done that church leadership! (Incidentally, that church helped many sinners get back to where they should be including other lapsed ministers.)

Saying that what you are doing is right when God says the opposite leads to damnation.

Strange to relate, that same church now has an unrepentant, 'married gay couple' allowed to worship in their ranks. As most of the leadership are the same as in the previous case, I am stunned.

Why does that church accept sin where once it shunned it? They are not helping this couple by their extreme about turn. They are simply pointing them in the direction of hell.

There are Christian principles to be followed. Heterosexual or homosexual - that is of no consequence.

What has this man to do with this matter?
