This Awesome, Serbian Family.

July 2023

Dear Friends and Partners in ministry,

Greetings from very hot Serbia! We are so thankful for air-conditioners. Now we use them everywhere, at home, in the church, in shops, in car… Thank you very much for being our faithful friends. We value you all more than words express.

Lidija

Lidija just graduated in July from Audacious Bible College, connected to Audacious Church Manchester. It was a one year training course, both theoretical and practical, in pastoral leadership. She had great lectures and was involved practically in different ministries of Audacious Church – connect team, pastoral, young adults, worship, children’s choir, small groups and in different campuses. It has been very beneficial for her and she has grown greatly as a person, and in her ministry, through exposure and experience.

As Lidija is planning to be involved in pastoral and teaching ministry in Serbia when she finishes her theological training, she needs a degree to be able to do her ministry more efficiently and to have more open doors in different areas of our society. So, from September 2023 she is starting AOG Missio Dei Bible College based in Manchester, to study for a Bachelors Degree in Theology and Christian Leadership. It is a three-year course. Her fees for tuition for the first year with a discount are £7883.75. Then finances are needed for accommodation, food, transportation and books. As she is unable to get student’s loan, we need to cover these financial costs.

We need you.  Please pray that God provides for this need, and if the Lord is touching your heart to invest into the training and equipping of a new generation, then please help us with regular monthly support and donations. It would mean a lot to us. This is our big step of faith.

Lighthouse Church Kraljevo

Our Lighthouse Church has regular services in Kraljevo. In Chachak at the moment we are renovating our new church hall for services. There we have meetings in people’s homes and they attend our services in Kraljevo. We are building the church and believers through teaching and preaching the Word of God, worship, prayer, fellowship, encouraging, strengthening and supporting them in their faith and life challenges. We are reaching the lost and inspiring faith, bringing hope and freedom. The church is growing and new people are being added. This month we will have a baptismal service.

We regularly broadcast live our Sunday services and that reaches people all over Serbia, Balkan countries, Europe and beyond, even as far as USA and Australia. Our believers live from Vrnjacka Banja to Priboj (central to western Serbia, to the border of Bosnia) which is four and a half hours drive by car. We are reaching for the Gospel a vast unreached area in central and western Serbia.

Special guests from UK

At the beginning of June, we had special guests from Great Britain, leaders of the the World Missions of the British AOG (called “3D Missions”), world director Kirk McAtear, Stephen Prosser, Tony Uddin and Adam Islip from Church Planting Europe. They ministered in our church and we had a fantastic time of fellowship, sharing and planning. We are greatly encouraged by their visit and friendship.

Missio Dei students

In April, for a week, we had students from AOG Missio Dei Bible College from England, on their mission week. We really enjoyed having them. They were able to exercise and grow in their gifts, by preaching and sharing in church services, through evangelism on the streets, prayer walks and school’s out-reaches, and by experiencing and learning about local culture, customs and history. We ministered to them through prayer, personal prophetic messages and advices. They were an amazing blessing and help to us.

Evangelism

We are organising special evangelistic services in our church with guests from Sweden, England, Switzerland, USA, and from other churches or evangelistic organisations from Serbia itself. These services are well attended. We invite people to come - friends, family and through our online advertisements using social media.

We organise evangelism on the streets where we talk to people and give them evangelistic literature. We give them Sasha’s evangelistic booklet called “Cup of blessing” and they receive it, ask questions and read about all the blessings Jesus has provided for us on the cross.

In our services people accept Jesus as their Saviour and Lord and pray the sinner’s prayer.

National Woman’s Conference

At the beginning of April Sara was the main speaker at the National Woman’s Conference in Sabac, western Serbia. It was great and woman from all over Serbia and northern Bosnia were blessed, healed, delivered and touched by the power of the Lord.

Teaching in the Bible School

In the beginning of July, we went to Pozarevac, ministered in the church and taught in Bible School there, Sasha taught on “Church Planting” and Sara taught on “Worship in Church.” Training new leaders for ministry is part of our vision.

Sara’s brother

Sara’s brother Mark suddenly and so tragically died in May. It was a massive shock for us. Please, pray for Sara, Margaret, Sara’s mum, and for us as family for God to give us his peace, comfort and strength.

Church building

We’ve done a lot of work on our church fence, but still, we need to do a lot more to make it look better, to paint it all and it’s big – 200m long.

We are in the process of furnishing two offices upstairs with office furniture. In February we bought electric drums for our church. We plan to buy some reflector lights for the stage.

Thank you

Thank you very much for your love, prayers and generosity. By your regular monthly giving and your donations, you enable us to preach the Gospel, win souls, build the Kingdom and make a difference in this spiritual desert of central Serbia and beyond.

Yours in Christ,

Sasha & Sara
