Left-wing student societies at British universities have condoned the attacks by Hamas despite Suella Braverman’s warning that support for the banned terrorist group would be punished.
The Home Secretary has said that she expects the police to “use the full force of the law” against anyone displaying support for Hamas following the bloody scenes on Saturday.The maximum penalty for showing support of a proscribed group is six months in prison and a fine up to £5,000.
Hanin Barghouti, the women’s officer at Sussex University’s student union, gave a speech in Brighton endorsing the attacks by Hamas, calling them “a victory” Times.
