VOICE UPDATE EMAIL - February 2024
Make a Gift to help persecuted Christians suffering for Jesus Today
Ahn was once a member of an elite military unit in the repressive regime that is North Korea. But his allegiance was tested after a dramatic incident at his barracks. Having fled the country he now lives in South Korea, training to be a pastor. You can read his dramatic story, and make a vital gift to our ministry, through the latest edition of our Voice magazine.
Thank you for contributing to our Christmas Letter with match funding
We are delighted to report that our Christmas campaign, which raised the voice of persecuted Christians facing oppression and violence around the world, has had a very generous response! Thank you to each and every supporter who made a vital contribution to this ministry. We would also like to thank our amazing anonymous donors who provided £20,000 to match fund donations. Praise God for his grace and provision for His people. The campaign is now closed to match funding but if you would like to make a donation please go to our website.
Can you raise funds for persecuted Christians in need?
Have you heard of Ultra Challenges? They are a great way of raising funds for Release International. On your own, or as part of a team, you can walk, jog or run – at your own pace – in a beautiful part of the country and get sponsored by friends to do so! For more information on challenges available this year go to their website. If you do decide to take part in an event and to raise funds for Release International, we’d love to hear from you! Let us know, at info@releaseinternational.org.
Persecution Trends Report podcast released
Every year Release International produces a Persecution Trends report, with up-to-date information from our partners in the field. In the latest edition of our Voice podcast editor Tom Hardie talks about how valuable the report is in helping us to pray for those who suffer for Christ and the gospel.
Persecution Theology Lent Study Group materials – All for Jesus
Have you, or your church’s leaders, planned small group study material for this year yet? If not, why not suggest your groups use our five-part study of Christian discipleship, All for Jesus? Each study focuses on a passage of Scripture, with introductory notes and questions. There are helpful notes for group leaders at the back. We have a special offer for bulk orders. Find out more here.
Could Speak
Have you seen If Prison Walls Could Speak, the dramatic account of Petr Jasek’s imprisonment in Sudan? The Artless Theatre Company is this year continuing to tour the country with this powerful production, which testifies to God’s grace in the face of opposition.
