Truth behind Chinese whispers that painted Wallis Simpson as a harlot. 

Allegedly, she’d had numerous affairs, but that was the least of it. She had posed for pornographic pictures, worked for gangsters and had spent time in a bordello learning something called “the Shanghai grip”. The accusations stemmed from a notorious document called the China Dossier, and a Google search reveals that these stories remain attached to Simpson today. Now a book has dug into these tales and the conclusion is that every one of them is true — it’s just that they didn’t happen to Simpson, who was a victim of one of the most effective establishment whispering campaigns ever mounted!

Paul French, an author based in China, has analysed the claims made about Simpson for Her Lotus Year and he has found that each of them stems from something that happened in China in the 1920s, but none had anything to do with Simpson.
