Rules Is Rules. (Anything Else Is Special Pleading.)

IndyDailyNews.gif

A statement from the Party Chairman, Paul Oakden.
At midday today our Returning Officer announced the list of candidates who will run to become the new leader of UKIP.
Can I offer my best wishes to Jonathan Arnott, Phillip Broughton, Lisa Duffy, Bill Etheridge, Diane James and Elizabeth Jones. On their shoulders will now rest the responsibility of bringing our party together and demonstrating the best of what UKIP has to offer to the British electorate.
I understand that some members feel frustration at the NEC for not voting to accept the late nomination of Steven Woolfe, which the party received at 12:17pm on Sunday. As a democrat, who is Chairman of a truly democratic party I join with all those who wanted as broad a field of candidates as possible for this election; I know many members of our NEC felt the same way.
That said, the rules governing nominations for our leadership election were explicit – complete application, including nominations must be received by the returning officer by 31st July, 12pm.
UKIP is full of members who have successfully stood for election. They all know that a deadline for nominations is not flexible and a late submission will always be rejected. Ultimately, a large majority of our NEC voted to uphold the rules.
It has been suggested that the inability of Steven Woolfe to submit his nomination was due to a fault in our online application system. The party are confident that our online system, which was capable of accepting multiple applications at the same time, was working properly and without interruption on the morning of July 31st. This has been confirmed by the company who manage our servers, and was demonstrated by a different candidate, who successfully submitted their own nomination paperwork at 11:46am on that same morning.
I regret that some members of the NEC have taken the decision to resign from the committee as a result of the vote. I would like to thank each of them for their continued service to the party.
Now we must all look forward to the exciting contest we have ahead of us. With an equal number of men and women standing to be our leader, covering a broad age range we will doubtless have some fascinating hustings throughout August.
I look forward to being at them and joining with you in listening to the thoughts and ideas of our candidates, on how to continue UKIP’s journey and secure our position as a driving force for change in British politics.

Kind Regards

China BANS Christian children from attending church and threaten parents with legal action

CHRISTIANS have been threatened with legal action if they do not stop sending their children to a church in China.

By  Express.
Parents at a church in the Guizhou province have been banned from allowing teenagers and young children to worship.
Local government officials have said youngsters will be forbidden from going to college or joining the military if they continue to attend church.
An official from a church in Huaqiu, named only as Mou, said: “This notice was sent to all of the schools in Huaqiu.

God Hates the Shedding of Innocent Blood, Can a Christian Vote for Hillary?

Since God Hates the Shedding of Innocent Blood, Can a Christian Vote for Hillary?

http://www.christianpost.com/news/since-god-hates-the-shedding-of-innocent-blood-can-a-christian-vote-for-hillary-167100/
There are few sins God hates as much as shedding innocent blood, especially the blood of children. Seeing that Hillary Clinton is a radically pro-abortion candidate and seeing that the Democratic platform reinforces those radical views, can a Christian vote for Hillary in good conscience?
In Jeremiah 19, God explained why the people of Judah were about to go into exile: It was because they worshiped idols and because they "filled this place [speaking of Jerusalem] with the blood of the innocent. They have built the high places of Baal to burn their children in the fire as offerings to Baal — something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind" (Jer. 19:4-5).
Because of these heinous sins, Jerusalem was destroyed and the Temple of Yahweh burned to the ground, with tens of thousands going into exile.
Does God hate the shedding of innocent blood any less today, especially when it is the blood of children? Listen again to Jeremiah: "They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire — something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind" (Jer. 7:31).

BREXIT BOOST: Britain WILL NOT fall into recession after ditching EU, think tank reveals

BRITAIN will not fall into a recession following the vote to leave the European Union, a respected think tank has revealed.

By  - Express.
Despite the doom-mongering before the momentous vote on June 23, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) said growth in the economy will not plummet after Brexit.
Simon Kirby, an economist at the institute, said: “We are clearly not going to repeat the downturn on the scale of 2008-09, due to the resilience of the UK economy and the financial sector compared to then.”

Clinton-Kaine Are True Abortion Extremists, Poll Shows

http://www.christianpost.com/news/clinton-kaine-are-the-true-abortion-extremists-poll-shows-167040/
Although Hillary Clinton and the beleaguered Democratic National Committee (DNC) are attempting to paint Donald Trump and Mike Pence as out of step with the country on abortion, new polling shows that a majority of Americans actually agree with Trump-Pence on this hot-button issue, while Clinton is pushing an abortion agenda opposed by almost 80 percent of Americans. EU Not UK Faces Economic Disaster.

Understanding Modern Israel.

Any nation will have countless, different social strands. What appears to be the case in Israel is that you have the ultra-Orthodox Jews - who seem not all that dissimilar to the pharisees of Jesus's day - and the secular.
The secular Jews reflect the situation you would find amongst the British today. They vary from atheists, through agnostics to nominal - and often are Reformed Jews. (Not exactly secular, I know.)
The true divisions in the religious sector are at least the same as existed in the Catholics and Puritans during Tudor and Stewart reigns, here in the UK - but actually, are rather more complex.
The Ultra-Orthodox known as Haredis have multiple sub-divisions - every one likely to be at least twice as a distant from the others as, say - a Methodist and a Roman Catholic.
There are the Hasidim from a movement started in E. Europe in the 18th Century; the Ashkenazim often called 'Jews from Germany'; the Sephardim who were the Jews expelled from Spain in 1492; the more recent Ethiopian Jews. That these groups are racial is obvious - but these can foment sub-groups amongst the Haredi.
Typically, there are the Chabad; the Mitnagdim, Shas and others too numerous to list. (The majority of sects tend to originate from the Ashkenazim.)
If there are major gulfs between  the assorted sects, that is one thing, but the gulf between the religious and the secular is beyond comprehension.
Add into this an inbuilt socialism and the rightist Likud and it all becomes mind-boggling.
Zionists versus religionists is a common battleground. (Astonishingly - many ultra-Orthodox sects are not especially in favour of Israel occupying Jerusalem!?)
If the Jews are massively difficult to comprehend with all of their inbuilt complexities - just wait until you see where the Palestinians are coming from!

So. The Vote Leave Figures Were An UNDERestimate.

VOTE LEAVE VICTORY! Official figures reveal UK billed MORE than £350m each week by EU.

NEW figures have revealed that Vote Leave under-estimated the amount of money demanded by the EU from the UK each week by £26 million. According to the Office of National Statistics the EU billed the UK for £19.6 billion in 2015 or almost £376 million each week.

The revelation comes after repeated claims by the Remain campaign and its supporters that Vote Leave's battlebus gross figure of £350 million a week going to the EU was "a lie". David Maddox - Express.

Mail Demands Reform Of The Unelected House Of Cronies.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-3719146/DAILY-MAIL-COMMENT-sneering-House-asking-reform.html
Reform of The Lords MUST be total! It is currently an affront to democracy. We need a properly elected Second Chamber with full PR - and the possibility of a multi-party committee selecting true, non-political experts from certain vital fields - maybe rendering to them up to 5% of the total seats.

Repentance Matters.

I sometimes think that, through all of its posturing and ersatz 'niceness', the liberal church actually despises the unsaved.
Firstly, it pretends that the sacrifice of Jesus covers all of mankind to the point where 'all will be saved'.
Secondly, this is the problem when you start getting ultra-selective with The New Testament. Repentance is a prerequisite before the blood of The Saviour can avail for you.
Thirdly, we are required to 'do His will' and that can only be understood by having absolute trust in the Scriptures.
Fourthly, God hates sin. We cannot water this down and pretend otherwise. If we continue without The Saviour, doing our own thing, we are lost! How do I know? - because The Bible tells me so!
