There have always been honours given to: cronies,the famous, the wealthy, failed politicians, party stalwarts, the totally undeserving and of course, the token tea lady.Blair and co arrive with a 'new brush' and award the all the same types of unmerited honours to perpetuate a hard-to-justify system.
You just have to feel that instead of dismantling the whole lot, he has decided to hold it up to ridicule.
How else do you explain knighthoods to the likes of hissy fit expert Elton John and priapic pub singer Tom Jones? It gets even worse when you see rewards for people with drugs convictions such as Jagger and McCartney!
If ever proof was needed that this country is morally degenerate.....
A proper system to reward the selfless and the truly special is a must.
"Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." (Isa. 55:6-7).
