The Temple Curtain.

Do you want a proof of the accuracy of the Gospels?
Take Mark's Gospel late dated by theologians to 64/65 AD - it was almost certainly some 20 years earlier. [See 'Papyrology' posting 29th August.]
Consider the 'splitting of the temple curtain' in Mark 15. There is a major proof both of the accuracy of the Scriptures and the miraculous element at the precise moment of Christ' death. How so?
If this event had NOT happened everybody with any Jerusalem connection would have known and would have instantly rejected the written Gospel as inaccurate and untrustworthy. John Mark would not have dared include this fact if not widely known in Jerusalem. The same applies with Luke and Matthew, two later versions which both include this.
Think about it. Even if we allow the theologians their absurd 30 years the story could not have held firm. Too many survivors would have spotted any untruth as the curtain was on public view and simply enormous!
If the front of Sheffield Town Hall had mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago - I would have recalled it. It did not happen. If somebody were to publish a story today claiming it had disappeared, I would catch them out instantly.
Folks. The miracle happened! Let us not forget that a similar case can be made where the question of "the darkness over the land" is concerned although this is rather less finite.

I used to travel on this noxious airline. I'll pay a lot more to avoid them like the plague!

Ryanair forced me to a pay a £50 baggage fee for a ridiculous reason - I thought they were joking. Have YOU been forced to pay an extra fee?...
