This Blog has long supported the wonderful Frank Field as the only trustworthy person in the Labour Party.

I am just beginning to wonder whether similar accolades might be due to Ian Duncan-Smith. Amongst the tories, he is the one who has consistenly spoken most sense since the inception of the new government.

Perhaps we missed a real opportunity. Perhaps he should have remained as Conservative leader.
