Still a free country after all?

'Police have been ordered to pay compensation to a Christian street preacher who was hauled off in handcuffs for saying that gays will go to hell.
A judge condemned the arrest of Anthony Rollins, who quoted the King James Bible on the subject of the ‘effeminate’ as he preached in Birmingham.'

The problem is that Christians are being portrayed as anti-homosexual which is emphatically NOT the case.
On the contrary, they are simply trying to help people avoid hell.
Part of the problem is that 'fornication, idolatry and adultery' are edited out. Each of these is at least as successful in seeing people condemned.
But "God is not willing that any should perish." He has prepared a way for us to avoid condemnation - and this does NOT include overlooking sin, applauding sinful lifestyles or denial that certain acts are actually sinful.
Okay, so your tendencies are homosexual. Big deal. We all have to 'play the hand we've been dealt.'
The last Archbishop of York deserves massive credit for admitting to his 'tendencies' but noting that he was leading a celibate life.

And another point. Why so much in compensation? - Surely, £500 would have been adequate!
