So. Where Are The Stats?

Shortly after the massive 126% jump in capital murders in the year immediately following the abolition of capital punishment (Sunday Times figures), the then government stopped publication of all murder statistics.
One may well wonder why?
On those rare ocasions when any stats at all have reached the public for scrutiny it has been to find that capital murder (as was), murder and manslaughter had all been 'lumped together' as 'homicide'.
Okay then. With murders reported weekly in Sheffield at a current rate that surely must be the equivalent of the national level of the early sixties, I have attempted in vain to come up with the stats online.
??????
I have been to The Office of National Statistics site and have just searched through 70 pages with everything from modern languages to knife crime, migration to ASBOs.
But where are the 'homicide' stats? - MISSING. That's where! Odd innit?
70 pages of stats yet they daren't let us know how many of our fellow citizens are being butchered annually.
The general public has always favoured the death penalty whereas politicians have generally tended to be out of step. (I think it's called democracy!)
Christians must support the death penalty for murder - the Scriptures are clear from Genesis to Romans. Christians however must never be vengeful - something which is easy when a society follows its God-given duty.
