This photo was, I believe, taken just after my Dad's 20th birthday in Brussels in December 1944. (He is second from the left.)
The young lady is his elder sister and the two managed to get leave to coincide with each other many miles from home.
Very shortly after this picture, Dad had his leave cancelled because of the sudden Von Runstedt Offensive - or if you prefer, The Battle Of The Bulge in The Ardennes Forest.
I believe that it was after the war before he again saw sister Ivy.
I only wish I knew who the other two soldiers were. I am certain that I would know them by name! I hope they lived.
The photo only recently came into my possession - and I had not known of its existence prior to it being sent to me by my cousin, Ivy's daughter.
Dunno if this has been of interest. It does rather drift away from the usual remit of this Blog.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
