300,000 Children Living In Poverty in the East of England along with the East Midlands.
Save The Children has gone bonkers. Let me pluck a daft figure from the air. How about a figure of 87?
How many children in the UK:
Have no access to clean water?
Have no access to food?
Have no access to nutrients?
Have no access to education?
Have no access to medical care?
Have no access to social care?
Have no access to shelter, warmth and clothing? What? I am being 'silly', am I? - Well I just established the absence of absolute poverty, didn't I?
So what we are looking at is the highly contentious relative poverty - a concept used wildly by the liberal left over generations to put us all onto a socialist guilt trip.
If you earn £80k a year and everybody else earns a £100k plus - then you and yours are in relative poverty. Ridiculous innit?
I wonder how many of these youngsters live in a home without a telly?
I wonder how many have no access to computers?
I wonder how many of the parents smoke, drink and take drugs?
The children in our society who are mistreated are mistreated because of attitudes to self-gratification by parents.
Of course, we all wish these youngsters could gain more from our world but this is all a precursor to a plea for 'government monies to help the poorest in society.'
Would I give money to aid children in Malawi for example? - Well, I do! AND in other countries with child poverty.
Shall I ever give to Save The Children again? - NO way! (Source ITV News)
