Eight years ago today, I prayed that my Dad would die. He was in an awful physical state, unconscious and in danger of staying alive for a long, long time into the future.
It was 10 past 3 in the afternoon and I was in my car just having left the hospital. I then rang my pastor and our church was praying for him precisely five hours later. (I checked!)
At 8-20 I got the phonecall from the ICU sister to say that he had died 10 minutes earlier. It was a sudden heart attack.
"Odd that. We seldom get sudden deaths in ICU," she said to me.
Five and a half years later, in circumstances not too dissimilar, I prayed for God to take my Mum too.
He did. Precisely five hours later.
Oh, I do miss them. It would be hard to imagine better parents.
Anyway, all just coincidences I suppose for unbelievers.
The trouble is that so many of us who pray seriously get 'so many coincidences' in return.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum.
