| Dec 06 2012 |
Suspected members of Islamist extremist group Boko Haram went from house to house attacking villagers in Kwaple in a predominantly Christian local government area on Saturday evening. Nine Christians and one Muslim man were killed; 20 homes and a church were also attacked.
Later, three churches and other buildings were burned in Gamboru Ngala village near the border with Cameroon. The BBC reports that several police were killed in this second attack.
Reuters is reporting that security forces say they have killed senior Boko Haram commander Mohammed Ibrahim, who had a bounty placed on his head last week (Prayer Alert, November 26).
